Diagnosis & Treatment: Tumour in left breast,lumpectomy & lymph gland removal all of which were clear. Treated with chemo and prescribed tamoxifen. Recurred 1995, had another lumpectomy & radiotherapy. 1997 tumour in right breast, had bilateral mastectomy & lymph glands from R side removed. Followed up with chemo, radiotherapy and prescribed Arimadex. Clear since. Also in 1997 I had a hysterectomy and my ovaries removed on the advice of my oncologist. As it turned out it was good advice since there were cancer cells in one ovary.
Likes/Loves: My husband of 13 years (Colin). Watching football (soccer), Cross stitch, and anything to do with Winnie the Pooh & friends.
Dislikes/Hates: People who say “Don’t worry, it will be alright”. How do they know!

Diagnosis & Treatment: I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1978 , Had radical macsectomy and 18 nodes removed all positive. I was given a 25% chance to live a week to a month. My treatment at that time was they took ovaries and tubes to ride the body of estrogen. I am here today by Gods grace and mercy. In 1992 the cancer metastized to my spine and skull. I had 5 months of chemo. Did not do well during that time. Had a port fall apart and part went in my heart, they went in through the jugular and fished it out. I went code blue from losing to much blood.. Had another port put in and back on chemo.. On my 5th month I found that I had gotten a blood infection in my heart through the port.. they had to stop chemo and put me on 30 days of 24 hours of infussion pump with antibiotics. Came out of that okay. In 1997 cancer recurred in my spine and skull. Did 3 weeks of radaition on spine and 3 weeks on skull. I am now stable and do Aridea infusions once a month and taking Arimadex each day. I feel great and am starting a cancer support group in Middletown Calif. Our first meeting is April 3rd.
Likes/Loves: Read the Bible, Bible Studies, Pray time. Meeting others with or that have had cancer. Or family members that do or have had. Use my computer to find information and Chat rooms about cancer and Bible Studies and Prayers.Love to IM and talk with others. I love to walk and do each day for an hour. Love to spend time with my hubby . Play with my Min.Doxie Minnie Pearl. Love to be with my family and play with my two grand children. The list goes on and on.

Dislikes/Hates: I dislike unkind and dishonest people…Loud noises, (except for fireworks..hehe).

Diagnosis & Treatment: IBC (Inflammatory Breast Cancer, Level III. Began the first of four pre-surgery treatments February 7. Switched drugs 3/21 because cytoxin and the other weren’t producing results. Am now doing Taxotere. One more treatment and then surgery on May 2 or 9.
Likes/Loves: Metaphysics, children’s literature, silence, writing, or thoughts of it:)…family, cats , nuts; wind, woods, and mountains; open spaces, the smell of rain and mowed grass, German Potatoe Salad, an old-fashioned Minnesota winter, candles, and solitude to name a few.
Dislikes/Hates:Clutter, tax time, cleaning litter boxes, getting sand thistles in your sox, cleaning bathrooms, not ever getting the same number of sox back from the wash machine, ice cream that’s too soft…to name a few.
Personal comments: I believe that in the greater scheme of things “all things are as they should be.” I see myself as an observer in this current situation and look to what I can learn from it. Each day I ask to increase in energy, awareness, and intelligence in the hopes of coming to a better understanding of my own existence and my connection to All That Is. It has been a rewarding and surprising journey at times

Rediagnosed 11/99 Liver mets Treatment is now Taxol with Herceptin Currently doing 6wk(once a wk) treatments 2wks off,then 6 more until resacan to see if a difference.

Diagnosis & Treatment: Stage 2, with lymph node involvement. Lumpectomy. A/C x2 with heart damage. CMF x4. Taxol x4. Rads x33. Was on Tamoxifen for less than a year and required a D&C. Pathology was OK, but I didn’t want to risk any other complications with the drug, so I went off it. I am currently just taking Zoloft, Vioxx, Prilosec, and vitamin supplements. I am also on some progesterone and estriol creams to aleviate post menopausal symptoms.
Likes/Loves: I love my family and my Golden Retriever Dexter. I garden and am currently working toward my practitionership in Healing Touch.

Likes/Loves: I’m a hiker, sailor, biker and love anything outdoors. Three 20-something sons are great and ex (gay) husband is supportive. Each day I try to do one thing I’ve never done before or one thing I’ve done — but in a new place — like playing Scrabble on a mountaintop.

Clear & clean margins w/no node involvment. This was in 12/00. I started tamoxifen in 4/01,doing good, joined support group & gradually my coping has became much better. Minimal hot flashes, if any but some moodiness now & then. I go for my 6 mth check-up in Sept/01.
Likes/Loves: I like horses & riding one. I like the smell of fresh hay & leather. I like flea markets, garage sales & off the road junk remnints. I love God,my family, writing,icecream & good food-gardening.
Dislikes/Hates: I dislike cold weather,snow, sweating,briars & snakes! I hate liars,theives & materalistic people.

Likes/Loves: My kids. Bowling, down hill skiing ( not too good) but I still love it . I raise Yorkshire Terriers and I love them all.

Diagnosis & Treatment: Diagnosed in 1998 with Stage I intraductal carcinoma er/pr negative, no spread to my lymph nodes. I had a lumpectomy, six months of chemotherapy and six weeks of radiation. Last month I was diagnosed with a local recurrence of DCIS and had a quadrentectomy. Due to unclear margins I recently had a mastectomy with a free tram flap reconstruction. I still feel very lucky.
Likes/Loves: Love my boyfriend and my two beautiful children. Enjoy kickboxing and weight- lifting, and the Redskins (ugh).
Dislikes/Hates: Adults who abuse children. People who refuse to earn their way in the world and intolerence.
Personal comments: Meeting other ladies with BC has been inspirational. Lets me know how lucky I am. This experience has made me a more spiritual person.
