Friends in Need  was created in 1996 by Susan Pangallo who was diagnosed herself with breast cancer in 1994. Susan resides in Australia and her hopes are to provide support in some way to others  who have had a breast cancer diagnosis of their own or know of others who are in some way affected with breast cancer . 

Many friendships have been formed since the Friends in Need  forum  was created and the members involved with the forum live in various countries of the world, many who have met face to face.
