Nick: Barbara in TX Resides: Houston, TX USA Diagnosed: August 2000 Age at diagnosis: 49 Diagnosis & Treatment: Stage 2 ductal carcinoma, Right breast. Partial mastectomy and lymph node dissection 8/22/2001 One positive node. 4 doses Cytoxan & Adriamycin every 3 weeks followed by 4 doses Taxol every 3 weeks. Was due to have radiation to right breast, but diagnosed with intraductal CA in left breast, therefore 3/28/2001 bilateral mastecomies with immediate reconstruction with lattisimus dorsal flaps and silicone implants. Likes/Loves: My Yorkie Callie, cat Lizzie, boyfriend King and my daughter Amy Rae. Like my surgeon and my oncologist. Love my friends, they've been a huge support. Love spring in Texas, Like the summers. Love vacations. Like my job as a legal nurse consultant. Like the result of my recon- struction so far. Dislikes/Hates: Disliked my plastic surgeon, big ego but he did a great job. Dislike COLD. Personal comments:I have felt very positive during most of my treatment and believe this has contributed to my recovery. Also, asked lots of questions and got second opinions with each treatment decision. Although I'm an RN I made sure each physician, etc. answered my questions as if I was a patient.
