Diagnosed: ?
Age at diagnosis: 62

Diagnosis & Treatment: Invasive lobular breast cancer. Had 6 sentinel nodes removed with 1 node positive with 3 cancerous cells. Follow up surgery 1 week later to clear the tumor margin more and had 16 nodes removed. All negative. I have all clean margins now. Will start chemo soon and follow up with radiation and possible tamoxifin. I had the sentinel node biospy at Abbott Northwestern in Minneapolis at the Piper Breast Center. It went very smooth. I am lucky so far.

Likes/Loves: Traveling and I love my family very much. I have 6 children and 3 step children with 21 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. They are great.

Dislikes/Hates: What I have to go through and what I have to put my family through with this.

Personal comments:I have been very positive so far. I do have my bad days, but try to keep very upbeat.

This is a update. On October 21st I will have my last chemo treatment. When I first entered I didn't think I needed Chem, but that changed soon. They have gone well. A little fight with depression, which they put me on Paxil to help that. Lost all my hair, but love my wig. We are at our Wisconsin home now but will leave for Florida after my last radiation treatment, which should be around Christmas. Itis cold here now and do wish I could be in Florida. My husband is a deer hunter, so I have to let him have some fun also. He has been so good with me. Right now he is my angel. My family has been great also. After my 1st treatment went to Canada fishing and after my 2nd went to our Florida home for 10 days.Had a bone scan and that was ok. Lungs and liver ok so far. I found my 3rd treatment to be the worse so far. We will see how the 4rd goes.
Everyone like to talks to me, because I am very up beat about this disease. There is so much help out there now for us to get well and make the treatment go easy.
