Did 4 rounds of AC and am supposed to start radiation tomorrow then 5 yrs of tamoxifen. Likes/Loves: na Dislikes/Hates: na Personal comments: My name is Denise and I know we all have our own stories and I'll try to make mine short and "sweet". I got engaged on 5/2/99 and one month later on 6/2/99 I found a lump on my rt breast underneath. Took me two days to tell someone. Had a mam & radiologist said it was cancer. My Fiancee' was with me and has been supportive and great this whole time. Went to the surgeon and had lumpectomy on 7/8/99. 2.5 cm, neg nodes. Did 4 rounds of AC and am supposed to start radiation tomorrow then 5 yrs of tamoxifen. I got married and bought a house between surgery and chemo! rofl. Sheesh everyone thought I was nuts, but I had the will to go on and behave as if all was well. I had so many scares, had all the scans cept for the brain. All was fine. So no metatistes. I am now in menopause at 45 yrs old and newly married. Kind of a strain but I know with all the support we will make it thru just fine y good. The tumor was so close t o my chest that I didnt know if that would be a problem, but turned out the tumor had 2 roots and one grew into my skin and made a dimple. So the surgeon took quite a bit of skin off too. But I still have my breast cuz I am kinda large. Hope radiation goes ok. I'm still so fatigued, but so hopeful now that I will gain strength back by summer and then Woohoo, time to make up for lost time. I want to give back to those who gave to me so far.
