Nick: Diane of NJ Resides: New Jersey, USA Diagnosed: October 1998 Age at diagnosis: 32 Diagnosis & Treatment: Extensive intraductal carcinoma,Grade III, Comedo type, With multiple small foci of early stromal invasion. Put at stage II bc due to large size of mass. Mass larger than breast itself. Er/Pr negative. DNA index showed aneuploid cells with high proliferation rate. Treatment: 4 cycles of adriamycin/taxol every 3 weeks. Started in October of 1998, finished in January of 1999. Modified Radical Mastectomy in January of 1999 6 weeks of radiation in March and April of 1999. Likes/Loves: Movies/shows: a good comedy, sweet love stories and dramas. I love to read. I love books with happy endings. I LOVE the sun. Spent too much time sunbathing in my life but I am happiest when in the sun. I love sunsets. I enjoy playing high energy sports. Not that my stanima is what it used to be anymore. I like to take pictures, and I am wild, crazy totally in love with my 3 children. Dislikes/Hates: I hate dishonesty. Nothing more I hate than when someone lies to me. (I don't mean the little white lies like you look nice today etc.)I hate fighting. I HATE cancer! Personal comments: I have 3 beautiful children. Michaela is my oldest child. She is 7 years old and in the second grade. She is such a little mother. My son Joseph is 4 years old in preschool and is such a mush. Then there is my litte Rianna Leigh who is 2 years old and full of smiles and spunk. I have been married for almost 9 1/2 years to my husband Michael. He has been wonderful with the whole bc thing. I noticed my lump when my youngest child was 8 weeks old but did not get it checked out for 10 months. I thought it was from nursing. It still took 2 months from time of going to doctor until my diagnosis. I am doing good now. I went for my first mammo on other breast since dx and was told to come back in 6 months as new calcification is there, but it has appearance of being benign. I have also developed a bit of lymphedema but am managing through it. I love to chat with the girls on ICQ and am glad that I have been welcomed so warmly, especially since it took me so long to put anything down on this site.
